Work Session
December 3, 2012
Present were: Mayor Grenier, Councilors Otis, Benski, Higbee, Rozek, Nelson and Theberge; Councilors Remillard and Morgan-Allain were absent
Others present: Patrick MacQueen
Mayor Grenier opened the meeting at 6:33 p.m.
City Manager Recruitment
Mayor Grenier thanked Councilors for voicing their individual opinions at last week’s session with Primex
Mr. MacQueen explained that we are to get a draft ad and job description to Primex by December 14 for advertising January 4. He came up with a short version for printed advertising and a longer version for web based ads. He added that most of the job description is in the City Charter. Councilor Higbee agreed that the long version of the ad is too long but it contains some good information. He suggested that a link be added at the end of the short version to additional information about Berlin and the position.
Mayor Grenier commented that although the City Manager does not have direct authority over Water Works, PD and airport, it is important to note that the City Manager acts as a liaison and provides them with information.
Other
Mayor Grenier asked about the 46 Wight Street property bid and whether all the stipulations were put in the bid. He was assured that the bid went out as the Council directed.
Non-Meeting
Councilor Theberge moved to enter into non-meeting per RSA 91-A:2,I(b) Collective Bargaining; Councilor Rozek seconded and the motion carried unanimously by roll call.
Respectfully Submitted,
Susan Tremblay
Administrative Assistant
